irrrrrrritable!!!

You know how they say when you are pregnant that small simple things can irritate you. Well that was me...all. day. today!!!!

I've been putting off housework for uhm, about forever now, and decided that today when I woke up I should get started early to avoid being sucked into HGTV for the day. So I put up the mountain of laundry that has been sitting on the dryer for weeks, washed some sheets, cleaned our ooohhhh so disgustingly gross toilet, and then started on the bathtub. But then I had the clever idea to bathe the big dogs before scrubbing the bathtub.

So I start with Maggie, who isn't too terrified of water and did a good job. Then I drag Bella into the bathroom and try to coax her in without lifting her (she's a whopping 70+ pounds!). With Maggie I just lifted her front paws into the tub and she jumped in herself. Now Bella, on the other hand, would get her front paws in and then jump out and cower in the corner. (She hates baths). I eventually had to plead with her. I said "Bella, mommy has a baby in her belly and can't lift you so can you please help me?" She jumped right in! Ahhh, relief!

After bathing two puppies, I figured I might as well get Addie done too. He is simple. Thankfully his plump eight pound self is still manageable to clean!

When I got done, the bathroom was a stinky, wet-dog mess! The walls were wet, the rug was soaking, and I now had a pile of dog hair to remove from the drain as well. JOY. So I got some gloves, long tweezers, and started plucking away at the drain, hoping I wouldn't gag. (Let me just say---this is my LEAST favorite thing in the entire world to do!) After I felt the tub would drain again, I got to scrubbing on the bathtub, bent over and feeling like I was completely squishing little Charley Girl. I then proceeded to scrub the shower walls and give myself a bath too, since now my skin was itchy from all the dog hair.

When I got out of the shower I just put on a bra and panties because I still needed to clean the outside of the tub and sink area and didn't want to get bleach on anything. The dogs were standing at the back door, so I let them out. Once I did though, I noticed that a waterhose had busted and water was squirting everywhere. So I pulled the towel off my head and wrapped it around my half naked body to turn the spout off.

I came back in to put on some clothes and not even two minutes later go back to the back door to let the dogs in.

This is what greets me:

for reals? notice the mud on her face and feet!!!!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I was so frustrated I could cry! Not only was she just now clean, but so was the bathroom and so was I! Feeling uuber defeated I finished up the bathroom and finally went outside to hose Maggie down. I'm pretty sure I yelled some not nice things to her too :(

(Oh, and last night she brought in a HUGE, dead dove in her mouth and sat on the couch right next to me. It took me a few minutes to figure out it was a bird...the whole time I thought it was a dirt clod. I was sooo wrong!)

My housework pretty much ended there as I was just feeling done. I laid down for a quick nap, but my stinkin' phone wouldn't stop "dinging"! Then Joseph texted and asked what was for dinner! Really!? My response: "????"

Finally, as I'm just getting to that wonderful deep sleep, my phone rings. It's the insurance guy (we are buying a home) and he tells me that the elevation certificate that we found on the property doesn't bring our flood insurance down any! Really!? He basically gives us a quote for flood insurance that is higher than our home owners insurance. This is just insane to me. Not to mention I'm just irked as it is!

Long story (or maybe not), short---I was very unpleasant this evening for no apparent reason at all. To top it all off, I desperately wanted a Snicker's ice cream bar but Joseph didn't want to ride to the store with me and I didn't feel like going by myself. Just one of the joys of being pregnant I guess.

a funny thing

Today Joseph and I went and watched Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. I'm not so hugely pregnant that I need maternity clothes yet, and most of my regular clothes fit just fine. (Currently 17 weeks). But when I sit for long periods of time, a little unbuttoning is quite comfortable. So at the movies I unbuttoned my pants.

Later that day Joseph had the brilliant idea of picking up Double Dave's Pizza. Not so great on the pregger's belly. And apparently not so great on daddy's tummy either.

So laying in bed tonight we are both complaining how our stomachs hurt and how we are never eating pizza again. Joseph even went so far as to ask me if it was ok if he took his boxers off and slept commando because the pressure from his boxer band was digging into his bloated stomach. Haha!

We had a great laugh and decided we are a perfect match...no underwear and unbuttoned pants and all!

(some of my delicious, and not always so forgiving, preggo food choices)

homemade vanilla ice cream topped with pineapple and sprinkles!

movie nachos drenched in jalapenos!

wonderful italian style pizza in santa fe, nm. wine for jojo; none for me!
