Today was rather uneventful yet full of events I'd much rather have not had.
We woke up early (6am) with Charley and she was eager to play. She and daddy went exploring about the property while we all got ready for the day inside.
Aunt Bree had a long night with Holland and desperately needed to catch up on some zzzz's, so Uncle J and Holland met us all for breakfast in town. We still all kept our distance from the baby just incase.
During breakfast it was apparent that Charley wasn't feeling herself. She didn't eat or drink a thing and stayed in her Meemaws lap the whole time. She came down with a fever and her mood plummeted.
We still needed groceries for the house and Char wanted to go in the store too. Poor Liza was at this point screaming her head off everytime we strapped her in her carseat. So I took her out, nursed her, and got her sleeping while Jojo, Charley, and Meemaw went shopping. These poor kids just felt like poo!
Sweet kid fell asleep in the cart with a roll of paper towels under her as a pillow. This in itself meant she was super sick! She is really strange about sleeping and has to be in her routine, so for this to happen, we were all alarmed.
We got back to the house, got Char medicine for her fever, and put Liza to sleep. Charley pepped up soon after her medicine kicked in, so we played outside, shot "hoo's" (hoops), and sorted ping pong paddles and balls (Charley's idea). She was so completely herself and fun.
Then she napped.
And woke up feverish, trembling, and with chills. Her little eyes were so glossy and Valerie said we needed to take her to the clinic. So we packed up and headed to an urgent care clinic that Jarred works at. The PA we saw said that Liza has some sort of viral pox (either hand, foot, mouth or even chicken pox!). He was convinced it was chicken pox although Valerie doesn't think so. I guess the real "diagnosis" doesn't really matter because with a virus you just have to let it run it's course. :(
Charley, he said, is most likely in the beginning phase of whatever this virus is and just feverish, with her bumps to appear later.
So we are in exile for the next few days until we clear up. We are praying that we can keep these girls fevers down because if the fever is at bay, they seem happy. Then we can do some outdoor activities and all keep a safe distance away from Holland. That's the plan anyway.

This is "The Outhouse". Aka, my dream house and the coolest house on the face of the planet.

One of my favorite things in the whole house, this old scale that is being used for such a day to day function: paper towel holder and dish towel holder. Genius!
Lots of stand alone storage pieces. None of which really "go" with anything else. They've all had previous lives and they don't match. I love it.

The use of wood, raw tin, and welded metal to frame the bathroom mirror. So creative.
The fixtures. These are heavy duty, solid metal, old school beauty's. I want them.
The old style sink and it's neighboring modern friend. The little one had a garbage disposal and the big one was big enough to bathe both girls in (different times).

I love this place. I guess since we can't be sick at home, this is the next best thing. :)
Hoping for healthy kids tomorrow so we can maybe hit the beach.
