Dear Ellen,

Whelp, Ellen, I came to a very sad realization today. It may be a while before I will make it to your show.

I hinted to my mother-in-law today (while watching your show), that going to your show would be THE ultimate birthday gift! My birthday is June 7 AND my family and I are traveling to California this summer in July. What better time to come!?!?

After I hinted to Valerie (MIL) I texted the hubby two things: 1) the classic joke of the day...it is Wednesday you know! 2) that I should go to the Ellen show for my birthday! He didn't reply :(

When hubs got home from work we were eating dinner and I brought it up again. That guys sure can put a damper on my dreams! He said we would only be in Cali for 4 whole days (not including travel days) and we would be four hours away (we are visiting family in San Luis Obispo) and it just wasn't very likely that we could make it this year. I then reminded him that you have been doing the show for eleven years and that you might not do it forever so we have to act fast! (I then reminded him how I had missed two opportunities to fulfil lifelong dreams...going to see Bob Barker on The Price is Right and seeing Rosie O'Donnell when she had her show. I like to dream big!)

Sooooo...I guess I'm a little pouty about this. I realize I'm a grown woman and need to suck it up, but just know that someday I WILL see you in person and make it to the show. I'm already thinking of trendy outfits to wear when I get there ;)

Here are just some random thoughts about you and/or the show:

-I checked out your book "Seriously, Kidding" from the library. Ummm...I don't know how to put this gently...but just stick to TV. It has been hard for me to read because you write like you talk...a little all over the place. Not an entire negative comment, just my opinion. (Please don't hate me!)

-The teacher Kirby on your show today completely made my day! She was the cutest! And the whole proposal thing? Yup, I was crying and laughing at the same time.

-Kirby also inspired me to do big things for kids and community. I've been struggling lately with the decision to either continue to stay at home with my girls or go back to teaching. That little fourth grade boy who donated his target gift card to buy books for needy children made me miss being around kids full of heart.

-When I visit the show it would be icing on the cake if Twitch were your guest DJ!

-Also, I need to take some dance lessons for when I come so I can get down with my bad self ;)

-Confession: I typically fast forward through the musical guests. My attention span is tiny and watching music live often bores me. Whomp, whomp.

That's all for now...until next time...
