Wow. It's been a while since I've posted. Sorry! I really have no excuse other than I'll get on the internet and completely waste my time doing other things and just not blog. Bla.
This will be a photo-full post and let me first begin by telling you who Lori is:
My friend, Chris, is writing a children's novel, or actually, a series of children's novels. He gave a copy of the manuscript to me and the hubs, and I've been reading it. Let me just say that had my friend not written the books, and I had just picked up the book to read, I would still thoroughly enjoy it! Anyway, one of the characters in the book is Lori, and so for Chris' birthday, I decided to make him a Lori doll! Just a little something to inspire him as he continues to edit and fine tune his book!

A bare doll body with hand embroidered face. |

Naked girl with the manuscript. |

Now she has clothes! I followed Chris' description in the novel. Also, he drew a picture of her for inspiration! |
|
Hand drawing her big blue bow! I drew on the fabric then cut out two pieces, turned right sides together, and sewed. |
|
Lori, with hair! |

All finished! Complete with opening lunchbox! |

Ready to wrap! |

Texas cookies to take to the party! |

Fresh out of the oven! |

All ready to be eaten :) |
|
The final Lori face. I even added some of my own blush for a sweet rosy face! |
I really had a lot of fun making this doll! Can you believe this was my first doll to ever sew?! It wasn't that bad at all. Actually, I know a few little girls who could use some sweet dollies too! But not as inspiration, to play with, of course!!! Hmmm...maybe as birthday gifts :)
