We have been adjusting to our new family schedule of being a part-time working mommy and Char being done with MDO. So far things are good, although I do need to brush up on my cooking skills :)
Here's a little of what's been going on since my last post:
The child has a style all her own and I've learned to just go with it. This day in particular I chose her shirt (red, white, and blue for Memorial Day) while she insisted on "crazy socks" and "Toms". Baby girl, those are Vans.
Also on Memorial Day, we welcomed this little beauty into our Minefee clan! Meet our first niece, Holland Mae! She is so sweet and gorgeous and I wish I could hold and smell her fluffy hair SO bad! Alas, California is too far away :(
Holland makes her daddy so happy and proud! I think every man needs a little baby girl in their life to officially make them softies :)
Memorial Day was spent with Meemaw and Papaw and daddy once he got off work. The girlies played outside and Charbear swam in her kiddie pool until the storms blew in. I seriously thought there was going to be a legitimate tornado. (Charley calls them "tornasos"...haha!)
Charley and her Papaw have a sweet special bond and I'm so thankful she has him in her life. He would play with that kid until his back gave out :)
Silly Jojo thought he would keep a "closer" eye on the storms! About this time I was rounding up children and getting ready to take cover due to the eerie silence. So creepy.
Char playing in the rain. This picture makes her seem so grown up. Jojo wants us to just pause time for a bit...she's getting too big too fast. We treasure this precious child.
And this baby keeps growing too! She still let's me hold her like a baby and loves to watch and rock while sister plays outside.
I'm not sure if you can see it, but Charley found some thread and was wearing it as a mustache. "Daddy mustache too"...
Little Liza bear has been sleeping in her crib!!!! Hallelujah, praise Jesus! No really! The game changer for her? She enjoys being a tummy sleeper and I feel confident that because she has excellent neck support and can lift herself up off her chest that this is a safe way for her to sleep. She has been napping in her crib too! She just requires a little snuggle and to be rocked then we put her on her tummy tum! She has been about two weeks on her own and during those rain storms over the weekend it took everything I had not to put her in bed next to me ;)
I'm so excited for summer to be here. BBQ's, swimming, vacations, and playing outside. I'm still working and will continue to do so until something changes. I enjoy my work so much and the people I work with have warmed up to me and I don't think they only see me as "Jenny's daughter" anymore. I'm learning a ton and have developed some great contacts in the process.
This week: seester and Wesley come to town, a fun filled weekend, and I'm super jealous of the in laws getting to go see Holland!
Next week: no work for mommy (or work from home), MY B-DAY WEEEEEK BEEEECHES!, and major girlie time at the Casa.
Happy times, friends. Go love and be loved. :)
