I miss my sister soooo much today. For Valentine's Day she sent us this adorable card:
It really is just too sweet for words. She made it (of course) and it has a happy home on the refrigerator where all the best art goes! She was going to come down this weekend (as she lives in Austin...nursing student at UT) but she got sick. It was the saddest part of my weekend talking to her on the phone Friday. She really, really wanted to come since she is homesick, but both moms told her it might be better to stay home. I just wanted to fly right to her side when her voice cracked and she said "I love y'all". She's the sweetest.
So since Stephanie can't come home, I will send a little bit of home to her. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I will show you a tiny bit of what I worked up for her today.
Once I got back home I got to work on a gift that I'm making for a friends little girl for her birthday. I got the inspiration from a crafting magazine/book I picked up at B&N last week. It's actually where I discovered Rubyellen and fell in love with her crafts! Anyway, mine isn't near as fantastic as hers is, but it is my own rendition, and it was made with lots of love, so that's all that counts.
It came out a little lumpy and sloppy, but I think that adds to the character. I especially love the little doll that will live in the house!
Anyway, I'm glad that the project is done and I hope that this very special little girl LOVES it! Plus now, I can start my next project, a surprise for Stephanie!!!! Here's another peek...
Adjusting to life in Midland has been much harder than I initially thought. I'm especially having a hard time with the living arrangements as I've never really had a roommate before other than my husband. And he is a dream...plus, I'm his wife, so I can boss him around if I need to. Although that rarely happens :) Let's just say living with three other adults is very difficult. I try to pray often and just stay focused on the prize ahead, finding our own place, but sometimes it's just plum hard. So if you pray, please pray for us.
I guess that's it for now. Happy night everyone. xoxo
